September 17, 2025Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP Welcomes New of Counsel Attorneys Joseph J. DiDonato and Steven Vegliante
Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, the Capital Region’s largest law firm, announced that Joseph J. DiDonato and Steven Vegliante have joined the Firm as Of Counsel. Mr. DiDonato joins the Firm’s Corporate and Intellectual Property Practice Groups, while Mr. Vegliante will be based in the Firm’s Poughkeepsie office as part of the Real Estate and Municipal Practice Groups.
Mr. DiDonato is an intellectual property attorney with more than 20 years of in-house, law firm, and university experience. His practice includes portfolio management, patent prosecution, licensing, transactions, and litigation across industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicle technologies. He previously served as Intellectual Property Counsel at Chemours Company and has also held positions with American Cryosystems Corp., Dupont, and Blank Rome LLP. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. DiDonato earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Loyola University of Maryland. Prior to attending law school Mr. DiDonato was a pharmaceutical researcher and did Graduate work in Molecular Biology at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Vegliante is a real estate and development attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing owners, developers, lenders, and municipalities. His work includes negotiation, acquisition, financing, entitlement, zoning, and development for residential and commercial properties. He has served as local counsel on large-scale projects throughout New York State and has also held public service roles, including more than a decade as Supervisor of the Town of Fallsburg. In addition, he has experience in the private sector as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of a regional development company. Mr. Vegliante is admitted to practice law in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He earned his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University.
