November 20, 2024Free Holiday Movies at the Palace Theatre
The Palace Theatre has announced the return of the M&T Bank Holiday Movie Series presented by Wainschaf Associates. Thanks to the generosity of its local sponsors, the Palace is once again able to offer the series free of charge. The M&T Bank Holiday Movie Series presented by Wainschaf Associates is one of several free and low-cost programs offered by the Palace that positively impact children and families in our community each year.
For each movie, doors open one hour before showtime for family-friendly activities, giveaways and surprises. A special “Family Fun Day” will be held Saturday, December 28, before the showing of Aladdin — it will kick-off at 12 p.m. featuring an hour of crafts, face painting, games, and educational activities coordinated by the Palace Theatre and the Ten Broeck Mansion. The Family Fun Day event will also feature a meet and greet with Princess Jasmine.
During all movie presentations, the Palace will also give away one (1) $50 Downtown Albany Gift Card courtesy of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District as well as other prizes.

“At M&T Bank, we recognize the importance of bringing people together and celebrating the holidays with the communities we serve,” said Charles Pinckney, M&T Bank Regional President for the Capital Region. “We are grateful to partner with the Palace Theatre for the return of the M&T Bank Holiday Movie Series as it invites the community into the beloved and iconic theatre, free of charge, to create wonderful memories with their families, friends and neighbors.”
“Movies are often the initial entry point for the community to enjoy the Palace Theatre.” said Palace Theatre Executive Director, Kevin Johnson. “I often hear from patrons and sponsors whose first experience at a theatre was right here at the Palace for a movie over 50 years ago! It is critical to our mission to continue to provide experiences like this to the community and thanks to the support and collaborative efforts of our community partners and series sponsors like M&T Bank and Wainschaf Associates, we can continue to provide this experience free of charge.”
