Consumer Directed Choices Honors 21 Exceptional Home Care Workers During National Family Caregivers Month

In conjunction with National Family Caregivers Month this November, Consumer Directed Choices (CDChoices) is honoring 21 home care workers with 2024 Constance Laymon Personal Assistant Recognition Awards.

“National Family Caregiver Month provides us with the opportunity to both recognize some of the very best home care workers, as well as to show our deep appreciation for all caregivers,” said Christopher Graber, CEO of CDChoices. “These extraordinary and dedicated workers provide remarkable care that enables about 250,000 New Yorkers to remain in their homes.”

Each year, CDChoices accepts nominations for the Recognition Awards from seniors and people with disabilities who receive outstanding care from their caregivers, known as personal assistants. The awards are named in honor of Constance Laymon, a fearless advocate for people with disabilities, who founded CDChoices in 1997.

CDChoices today provides payroll and administrative services to seniors and people with disabilities in the Capital Region and Northern New York who manage their own home care. The organization was recently selected as one of New York state’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program’s (CDPAP) four core regional home care partners.
This year’s recipients of the Constance Laymon Personal Assistant Recognition Awards are:
• Margarita Annamuhammedova, Albany County

CDChoices employees surprised Aida and other honorees by distributing awards in person shortly ahead of National Family Caregiver Month.
