October 24, 2024YWCA North Eastern NY Launches 2024 Holiday Assistance Program to Support Local Families in Need
YWCA NorthEastern NY is excited to announce the launch of their 2024 Holiday Assistance Program, aimed at providing support and gifts to families in need during the holiday season. This initiative is part of YWCA NENY’s commitment to fostering a supportive community and ensuring that everyone can experience the joy of the holiday season.
The Holiday Assistance Program is dedicated to collecting meaningful donations of gifts for children and adults in the community. Recognizing that the holiday season can be especially challenging for many, this program aims to ease the burden and bring hope to those facing difficulties. In 2023, the Holiday Assistance Program provided gifts to 321 children and 152 adults in the community, a record high for this program. YWCA NENY staff anticipate an even higher need in 2024.
“We have been striving to create a brighter holiday season for families in our community for more than two decades and the need for this program continues to grow each year,” said Bonnie Friedlander, Program Coordinator of YWCA NENY. “We invite everyone to join us in spreading joy and hope during this holiday season.”
How to Get Involved:
- Donations: Community members are encouraged to donate gifts or funds to support the program. The wish list for the program can be found at ywca-neny.org/hap/. The Amazon wish list can also be found by searching “YWCA NorthEastern NY” gift list.
- Donation Period: 10/25/24 to 12/23/24
