The Port of Albany Hosts Port Industry Day on Thursday, September 19, 2024

The Port of Albany will be hosting Port Industry Day on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 106 Smith Boulevard (Albany NY 12202). Registration and refreshments will begin at 9:30 am.

Port Industry Day is a day-long opportunity to learn more about what is happening in the maritime industry, to meet Port tenants and partners, to see displays and demonstrations, and to get an up-close look at Port operations. The program will feature internationally renowned port and transportation leaders and speakers including: Paul Anderson, President/CEO | Port Tampa Bay and Chair | American Association of Port Authorities; Jonathan T. Daniels, Executive Director | Maryland Port Administration/Port of Baltimore; Stephanie Dominguez, Assistant Director, Commercial Development | Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Raed EL-Farhan, PhD | Weston & Sampson, and more.

The Port of Albany is a 450-acre year-round inland public port specializing in breakbulk, heavy lift, and special project cargo and is a logistics hub for a variety of commodities including steel, scrap iron, paper pulp, grain, and molasses. Established in 1932 by actions of the NYS Legislation, the Port is located 124 nautical miles north of New York Harbor and serves as a Port of Entry with on-site U.S. Customs and bonded warehousing and hosts approximately 24 business tenant operations. Port facilities include a 30-acre marine terminal with 5,400 LF (+ 500 LF planned) of 1,200 to 6,000 PSF (planned) wharf, more than 350,000 SF of covered/sprinklered storage space, and a service fleet including two Liebherr mobile harbor cranes with lift capacity of 244 tons.

The Port continues to be a driver for the New York State economy with jobs and investment. The Port is nearing completion of approximately $100 million investment in maritime infrastructure and is developing more than 100 acres for offshore wind manufacturing.
