City Mission of Schenectady Ribbon Cutting

City Mission of Schenectady hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at 301 Clinton Street. This new addition to its downtown campus allows the opportunity to expand their Transitional Housing program with additional apartments, providing much needed support and long-term shelter. While fulfilling the ever-growing need for transitional housing apartments, this building serves a greater purpose with a focus on broadening the Mission’s Workforce Development program. With many Downtown Schenectady partners offering employment opportunities to program graduates of City Mission, these additional apartments are being utilized to offer housing to those who have entered the workforce. This workforce development initiative is an investment in the continued revitalization and economic development of Downtown Schenectady by providing affordable housing to those who have gained employment and are working towards sustainability. Recognizing the potential barriers faced by those re-entering the workforce, City Mission is committed to providing access to job training and development, career counseling, and affordable housing, in an effort to reduce those barriers and empower these individuals to obtain and retain their jobs.
A special thank you to Redburn Development, all of our friends, partners, and our supportive community who made this possible and are transforming lives with their unwavering support. Together, we’re building a brighter future for our community!
