Sofia’s of Clifton Park, part of a family of NYC Italian restaurants, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony under the leadership of Stephan Wininger and Jose Veloz. This expansion into the Capital Region features a unique venue known for its special architecture and gazebo over the water. Inside, murals, reliefs, and other artworks created by talented artist Murah Lemos add to the restaurant’s charm.
The ribbon-cutting event was attended by notable figures including Capital Region Chamber’s Pete Bardunias, Town of Clifton Park Supervisor Phil Barrett, and Councilwoman Lynda Walowit, who presented the restaurant with the NYS Senate Empire Award. Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh and Senator Jim Tedisco also joined in the celebration.
