The Capital Region Chamber joined in the celebration of this family-owned food establishment official opening, as Mr. & Mrs. Wing dedicated their Korean chicken wing specialties at 1715 Union Street. Senator Tedisco attended and presented an Empire Award to the Wang family, owners of the business. The Wangs emigrated from China and lived in Iowa and Minnesota before moving here to Schenectady. Their daughter, Sally, is enrolled in college in Washington, DC studying international law. This family exemplifies the can-do spirit found among entrepreneurs, and the food is definitely worth the visit! The Upper Union Street BID was represented by members Anthony Adonnino (HomeStyle Caterers/The Ritz on Union) and Chris DiCocco (DiCocco & Associates).
Nicky Wang cut the ribbon, while daughter Sally held the prestigious Empire Award for the opening of Mr. & Mrs. Wing on Upper Union Street, on July 30. Volunteer Ambassadors of the Capital Region Chamber joined the author, Discover Schenectady President Todd Garofano, Anthony Adonnino and Chris DiCocco in cutting the ribbon. An amazing spread of wings, chicken and other specialties was served for the occasion, plus salad with a homemade dressing that was a real treat.
