Old Brick Furniture & Mattress Co. has been named the 2023 Retailer of the Year (large retailer) by the Home Furnishings Association (HFA). This recognition as one of the industry’s highest achievers is amongst the most prestigious awards in home furnishings. The team will be presented with the award by Mark Schumacher, CEO of the Home Furnishings Association on Thursday, March 2nd at 2 PM at the Albany, NY Showroom and home office location.
Old Brick was judged by a panel of industry professionals on eight categories: Customer Experience, Company Culture, Social Responsibility, Innovation, Adaptability, Industry Contribution, Marketing, and Achievements.
This award comes after two and a half pivotal years for Old Brick. Bennington Furniture and Old Brick Furniture joined forces in September of 2020 when Michael Fiacco, President and Owner, assumed ownership of Old Brick, re-branding the Bennington Furniture stores as Old Brick Furniture & Mattress Co.
Since then Old Brick has opened a new location and Design Studio in Clifton Park, NY, centralized warehousing into one new distribution center also in Clifton Park, launched a digital eCommerce experience, and expanded and remodeled their flagship Albany showroom.
Fiacco is honored to win Retailer of the Year and calls it “the team’s award,” crediting the entire Old Brick team for helping earn this.
“None of this happens without our people doing what they do. Since we purchased the Old Brick ~2.5 years ago, so much has been done to help us earn this. The more recent efforts build upon decades worth of hard work and dedication to our mission of offering the best variety of furniture and mattresses at the very best prices,” said Fiacco.
