May 11, 2022Bountiful Bread and Annabel’s Pizza Co. @ Frog Alley Host Grand Opening Celebration
Bountiful Bread-Schenectady and Annabel’s Pizza Company will host a Grand Opening Celebration this Thursday, May 12 from 5:30 – 8 PM at 108 State Street, Schenectady. The celebration is a free event open to the public, showcasing food samples pre-pared by Annabel’s Pizza Co., Bountiful Bread, and Bountiful @ Frog Alley Catering. The event is also a benefit for Proctors Collaborative, the Capital Region’s destination for Broadway shows, film festivals, and special events. There will be numerous ways to donate to Proctors throughout the night, including a suggested donation at the door, a Grand Raffle, and gift-certifi-cate purchases.
Annabel’s Pizza Company, which opened in Frog Alley Brewing in 2020, serves artisan pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven, as well as frites, chicken wings, garlic knots, and salads. Head chef Nick Meola was recognized as a Capital Region Living Best Chef in 2021. Bountiful Bread-Schenectady opened beside Annabel’s in 2021, and serves specialty sandwiches, salads, soups, and baked goods. This is Bountiful Bread’s second location; its flagship store is located in Stuy-vesant Plaza, Albany. This second Bountiful Bread includes a large prep kitchen where staff bake a variety of artisan breads, custom cakes, cookies, and pastries daily. This location is also headquarters for Bountiful @ Frog Alley Catering, a catering company which produces events from office luncheons to formal weddings, in a variety of unique spaces at Frog Alley, as well as in private homes and workplaces.
Thursday’s event will feature a series of culinary vignettes at Frog Alley, where guests can enjoy food samples in rooms set up as a wedding, a VIP Lounge and Outdoor Patio, a birthday party, and a café. Featured foods include a slider and quesadilla bar, a pretzel station with dipping sauces, salads, soups, breads, and desserts. Frog Alley Brewing has scheduled live music and will host several cash bars. Tickets for a Grand Raffle are on sale before and during the event fro $20, with prizes including a Three-Course Dinner Party for 12, and Dinner & a Show packages
featuring tickets to Proctors’ My Fair Lady and Mean Girls. Gift certificates for lunch, pizza, and artisan breads will be on sale during the evening. All raffle ticket sales, and a portion of every gift certificate purchase, goes directly to Proctors.
Both Annabel’s and Bountiful Bread-Schenectady opened during the covid-19 pandemic, thus delaying plans for an earlier Grand Opening celebration. The Frog Alley Brewing building fea-tures an abundance of indoor and outdoor space, allowing ample room for responsible socializing on Thursday, when the forecast calls for temperatures reaching 80 degrees.
