A Capital Region Business is once again sharing its wealth of knowledge with Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School students, providing them “cool” insight into a “hot” industry.
Crisafulli Brothers Plumbing and Heating Contractors Inc. Residential HVAC Manager Terrance Bikowicz spoke on May 11to students in the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) program about Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and customer service.
“The prices of everything are going through the ceiling, so if we can provide them something like a humidifier on their furnace that will save them from buying them in the store and provide them with better service and care, we are helping them,” he said.
Bikowicz also spoke about careers in the industry and how far they can take you. “Our industry is top notch in terms of earning good money because we are needed. We aren’t smoke and mirrors, here now gone in four years. People will always need us and want our services.,” he said. “You can go anywhere with the skills you learn here. Japan? Australia? You can find jobs there as long as you work in this industry.”
The HVAC/R program at the Albany campus of the Capital Region BOCES CTE gives students a solid career foundation in the HVAC/R industry.
