February 22, 2021Whitney Young Health Welcomes New Medical Staff Members
Whitney Young Health has announced the addition of Colleen Surlyn, MD, MPH, as the Associate Medical Director for Adult Medicine and Kenneth Kroopnick, MD as Staff Pediatrician.
Dr. Surlyn completed her Doctorate of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine and her Masters of Public Health from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Addiction Medicine and Preventative Medicine. Dr. Surlyn joins Whitney Young Health having most recently served as a Physician Specialist at the San Francisco Department of Public Health with a special interest in Hepatitis C treatment, diabetes management and addiction medicine. In her role at Whitney Young Health Dr. Surlyn will provide direct patient care in addition to providing clinical supervision for the medical staff members providing care to adults.
Dr. Kroopnick is a board certified Pediatrician and Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, who received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed his residency programs at Albany Medical Center. He brings extensive experience as a General Pediatrician in the Albany area, where he has practiced for several decades, and he remains a clinical instructor at Albany Medical College.
