AlbanyCanCode and Zones Team Up to Provide a Unique Opportunity: Computer Coding Education and a Guaranteed Job Interview

AlbanyCanCode and Zones, LLC are joining forces to give emerging coders a unique opportunity: a robust education plus a guaranteed interview for a position in the software industry.

The first-ever partnership targets students in AlbanyCanCode’s Spring 2021 Microsoft PowerPlatform and Microsoft Azure course, which teaches the fundamentals of both services and gears students toward certifications in each platform. Every student that successfully completes the course will be assured of a job interview with hiring managers at Zones. The company is currently seeking to fill a variety of positions, including Microsoft Office 365 Azure and Concierge Technical Support Specialists, desktop support specialists, help desk analysts, and field services coordinators and technicians.
“We are thrilled to partner with Zones to offer our students this exceptional opportunity to receive superb education and training along with a chance to interview for a position with a global IT leader,” said Annmarie Lanesey, Founder and CEO of AlbanyCanCode. “We commend Zones for its forward-thinking approach and collaboration, and look forward to filling the tech talent pipeline that is essential as the digital business world rapidly expands.”

“Highly skilled and trained IT professionals are essential to our mission of improving efficiency and optimizing workflow in today’s online and on-demand workplace,” said Gabriel Raia, Vice President, Integrated Services of Zones. “This partnership with AlbanyCanCode is designed to ensure we continue to build a best-in-class team that can deliver solutions for complex IT issues and generate a return on investment for our clients.”

The Microsoft PowerPlatform and Microsoft Azure course will instruct students on how to leverage Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power Automate, and Microsoft Power BI to help solve business challenges and answer business questions. The course will also cover cloud concepts, as well as the planning, pricing, and administration of Azure cloud services.

In addition to giving students a job interview, Zones will support the education and training program in two other important ways: by engaging its professional IT staff to serve as guest lecturers, and by providing a “Day in the Life” experience with its Office 365 team, allowing students to see the topics they’re studying being applied in real-world situations.

In partnership with Zones, LLC and SUNY Schenectady County Community College, AlbanyCanCode is offering the course on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m., starting February 22 and running for 12 weeks. Registration is available through February 19 by clicking here.

More than 250 individuals have graduated from AlbanyCanCode classes since its launch in 2016, and the organization expanded to introduce KingstonCanCode in 2020. Formed to shift the mindset about who can work in technology, AlbanyCanCode designs and delivers computer coding and workforce training courses to develop non-traditional talent, helping to build a vibrant, inclusive tech talent pipeline aligned with the needs of employers, educators, and the community in general.
