Community Bank N.A. is pleased to announce three promotions at its new Business Banking Center, located at 19 Corporate Woods in Albany. Gloria Pickering has been promoted to commercial banking officer, Ken Countermine has been promoted to SVP, commercial banking group manager and Eric Magnano has been promoted to vice president & commercial banking officer.
In her new role, Pickering will be responsible for serving the Fulton-Montgomery County market, performing a variety of duties to meet the commercial service needs of business customers which will include lending. She will be responsible for developing new business relationships with prospective customers and maintaining continuous business relationships with current customers. Pickering has more than 23 years of banking experience and most recently served as commercial administrative assistant in the capital region. She came to Community Bank in 2019 when the bank acquired National Union Bank of Kinderhook where she served as VP operations officer. Pickering enjoys serving the community through various boards including serving as the treasurer of the Fonda Fultonville Youth Football League, member at large of the FFCS All Sports Booster Club and treasurer of the Braves Football Alumni Club Inc. She resides in Tribes Hill, NY with her family.
As SVP, commercial banking group manager, Countermine will oversee the commercial banking operations for the Capital Region, ensuring that the full value of services and products that Community Bank has to offer are provided to the market. He previously served as team leader overseeing all commercial loan and deposit origination and portfolio administration for the Capital Region. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry to his new role and has been employed by Community Bank N.A. since 2018, when the bank established a commercial banking office in the region. Prior to joining Community Bank he was vice president, middle market senior relationship manager with TD Bank.
Countermine is actively involved in his community, serving as incoming board chair for the SUNY Schenectady Foundation and member of the Capital Region Chamber Finance Committee. In addition, he has contributed time to the Burnt Hills School District.
In his new role as vice president & commercial banking officer, Magnano will continue to expand Community Bank’s commercial real estate financing and middle market banking throughout the Capital Region. He will be responsible for managing new business with present and prospective commercial customers as well as maintaining current customer relationships. With 12 years of experience, he previously served as commercial banking officer. Magnano received a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in finance from Le Moyne College and a Master’s in accounting from Southern Hampshire University.
