January 11, 2021Double H Ranch Launches Camp Legends Podcast
The Double H Ranch is proud to announce the launch of the Camp Legends podcast. This new virtual initiative is
just one of the many Virtual and Alternative Programs being offered during the 2020-2021 winter season here at
the Double H Ranch. Using storytelling from different camp perspectives, this podcast will shine light on the power
of camp and help us stay connected to our camper families and community in a way that is easily accessible to all.
“The Double H community is made up of incredible people with powerful stories. As we head into a new and
different year, we hope to share these stories, keep us all connected and continue to create a place of
belonging. Listen in to our first ever Double H podcast, to hear stories from our camp legends and the power of
camp.” Jacqui Royael, Director of Operations.
The Camp Legends podcast, which runs from January through March, will feature a new theme each month with
new episodes uploaded every other Monday. The theme for January, Where it all began?, will focus on the history
of the Double H Ranch with special guests Clea Newman and Charlene Wood, daughters of Double H Ranch
founders Paul Newman and Charles R. Wood. Clea and Charlene will sit down with us to discuss their fathers’
legacy and their vision of creating a camp that provides specialized programs and year-round support for children
and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. This discussion will give listeners an exciting opportunity
to hear first-hand how the Double H Ranch founders overcame obstacles and were able to achieve their collective
goal of creating a safe, fun, and empowering Adirondack camp experience. The Where it all began? will be
released on January 11th
.
All Camp Legends podcasts are open to everyone to enjoy. The goal of these podcasts, as with all of our Alternative
and Virtual Programs, is to help to provide a sense of connection, belonging and acceptance to our campers both
near and far. For over 28 years, the Double H Ranch has had the privilege of offering programs that help our
campers gain independence, resiliency, and confidence through memorable camp experiences. During that time,
thousands of campers, families, staff, volunteers and donors have developed their own story and perspective on
what matters in life. We are extremely excited for these podcasts to serve as an outlet for our community to stay
connected and spread the magic of the Double H Ranch during these cold winter months.
Stay tuned for our upcoming podcasts in February and March with, Camp Love: How people were brought together
through camp experience and Luck: Acknowledge the role of luck in our camp stories. The Camp Legends Podcast
will be available on All major podcast platforms including Apple, Spotify and Stitcher. Links will be available on
our website and via all our social media channels.
