Home for the Dying Virtual Annual Gala

Schenectady Community Home Inc. aka the Joan Nicole Prince Home will be hosting its 15th annual Night of a Thousand Stars Gala on November 7th, 2020 at 6PM, virtually, on www.joannicoleprincehome.org/gala2020. The event will feature a virtual silent auction, running November 2nd– November 7th till 10PM at www.joannicoleprincehome.org/bid as the Joan Nicole Prince Home’s largest fundraiser of the year.

The Night of a Thousand Stars Gala remains a celebration of the Home’s endless accomplishments in providing 24/7 bedside care, free of charge, to the terminally ill at the end of life. The JNP Home has set out to raise $40,000 this year, to support the Home’s operational expenses associated with providing care to residents and its educational programs. The event will be honoring our local faith communities, recognizing their endless dedication and compassion for the terminally ill in our community. The event will feature retired NP, Libby Horn, as a guest speaker and local performers including Angelina Valente, Carla Page, Mark & Jill Sing the Blues, T.L. Holloway, and the Saratoga Soundtrack Chorus. Sponsors include the 1st National Bank of Scotia, B95.5, CapitaLand GMC, Habitat for Humanity Schenectady County, the Community Hospice, WVCR 88.3, and so many more!

The Joan Nicole Prince Home is excited to continue their Gala this year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and invite you to join in on the celebration! Since opening in 2006, the JNP Home has served over 225 residents and provided hundreds of local students and community members with hands-on training on end of life care. Together as a community, the JNP Home has successfully run solely on donations and grants to support its $249,000 budget for almost 15 years. As a 501 (c)(3), the JNP Home runs on community support, volunteers, and donations to live out it’s mission of providing a safe, comfortable, caring residence for terminally ill patients in need of a home during their final days.
