October 2, 2020Something Spooky This Way Comes
In anticipation of Halloween, Proctors and Capital Repertory Theatre are launching two exciting and very different haunted walking tours in Schenectady and Albany.
theREP is partnering with The Original Albany Ghost Tour’s Maeve McEneny-Johnson for a spooky good time with an outdoor “City Séance” ghost tour. Patrons roam the streets of Albany’s past after dark with Madam Maeve in an attempt to unearth the capital city’s storied past. Will Madam Maeve conjure spirits along the way? Will guests unearth ghosts and survive to tell the tale?
This theatrical walking ghost tour weaves a tale of some noted historical figures of Albany. Dates are Oct. 14, 16, 21 and 23 at 7 p.m. There is a rain date of Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. for any cancellation due to weather. Each tour accommodates 10 people. Guests are required to wear a mask for the entire tour. Tickets are $25; more information and reservations at https://capitalrep.org/event/city-seance-therep-ghost-tour/.
Schenectady’s Proctors will close this scary month with a two-day interactive event on Oct. 23 & 24 titled “F.F. Proctor & the Case of the Missing Deed”. Guests have the mission of saving Proctors from certain destruction by a greedy bank due to a missing deed that Mr. Proctor himself hid. Locked in the building, guests scour the dark corners and passageways of the historic venue in search of cyphers and clues left behind over 90 years ago.
Part escape room and part haunted tour, participants experience areas of Proctors they never knew existed. This interactive walking tour will have them slowly turning every corner and walking on eggshells while solving puzzles and clues expertly laid out.
Tours run in 90-minute increments with tour times on Oct. 23 at 6 and 8 p.m. and Oct. 24 at 4, 6 and 8 p.m. Each tour accommodates 10 people. Guests are required to wear a mask for the entire tour.
