Community Bank N.A. Announces New Commercial Banking Officer

Community Bank N.A. is pleased to announce Paul T. Wersten has joined the team as commercial banking officer in Albany, New York. With the addition of Wersten, the bank’s Albany Commercial Banking team will grow to eight team members.

In his new role, Wersten will manage and grow commercial banking relationships across Upstate New York in a variety of industries. He will support business clients with innovative solutions through commercial lending and deposit services and will work with Community Bank partners to deliver solutions for insurance and investment needs.

Wersten has more than two decades of experience in the commercial banking industry, including seven years with both KeyBank and Glens Falls National Bank, and four years as the commercial credit manager for TD Bank in the Albany region. He joins Community Bank from Trustco Bank, where he was most recently a commercial lender.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Paul to our growing Capital Region team,” Community Bank Regional Executive Jeffrey Levy said. “Paul’s experience and in-depth financial knowledge are an asset to Community Bank and will help our team continue to build vital relationships while serving the needs of our customers.

Wersten will work out of Community Bank’s new Business Banking Center, located at 19 Corporate Woods in Albany, when it opens this fall. The Business Banking Center will offer customers wealth management, insurance, residential mortgage and commercial banking products and services. In addition to accepting non-cash commercial deposits, the facility will have a drive-up, cash-dispensing ATM.

Wersten is actively involved with the Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area as secretary and board member and was president of the board in 2014. He is the cofounder and treasurer of the Ryan Wersten MIOP Foundation, a not-for-profit he founded in memory of his son Ryan.

He received a Master in Business Administration from Union College Graduate Management Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Union College.

Wersten lives in Wilton, New York, with his wife, Barbara, and son Alexander.
