The Malta Business Community Alliance Launches Website ( www.MaltaNYBusiness.com) to Promote Living and Doing Business in the Community

The new website is the culmination of an effort, led by Malta businesses/residents for Malta businesses/residents and visitors alike. It is the first initiative of the recently formed Malta Business Community Alliance (MBCA) which is the new name for the former Malta Business and Professional Association (MBPA), after it affiliated with the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County/Capital Region Chamber.

At a meeting with local business community representatives on February 27 at Bryant & Stratton College, development of a website was identified as a top priority by the businesses in attendance. Despite the ensuing COVID-19 crisis which prevented subsequent face-to-face meetings, the website team, assisted by the Capital Region Chamber, worked diligently to develop the website. As a town of Malta resident with experience in marketing, Kimberly Hickok of Marketing Kangaroo assisted with web development, Pamela Grandin of Clipcorner Business Solutions and Pete Bardunias of the chamber provided content.

“The intent of the website is to showcase the variety of businesses operating in the Town of Malta,” says Hickok, who lives and works in Malta. “We worked together as a team, and have made a website that we hope will help people find needed products and services within our town and also gain a greater appreciation for this wonderful community.”

“Having a website dedicated to Malta Businesses has been long-needed, both for the business community and for the community-at-large,” says Pamela Grandin, Owner, Clipcorner Business Solutions and a 27-year Malta Resident. “It’s satisfying to see the vision and dedication of business owners and residents come together through the Malta Business Community Alliance to produce this website. This is just the beginning of a larger movement to support and grow the Malta community – as a community!”

As released, Version 1.0 includes listings for all Malta businesses associated with the former MBPA and the CSSC/Capital Region Chamber. Every business located within the Town of Malta is welcome to have a complimentary listing on the site. The site includes a link to the Malta Town website for general, emergency services and parks and recreation; a link to the MBCA Facebook page; business and community information.

MaltaNYBusiness.com will evolve based on input to add more robust features to make this site an even more powerful tool. Though large group meetings remain prohibited due to the Coronavirus crisis, virtual meetings will be held to review ideas and determine next steps.

“We are very proud of the hard work that residents and business owners within the Town have put into this project,” says Pete Bardunias, Senior Vice President, Community Advancement, Capital Region Chamber, “as they are the driving force behind the work of the MBCA.”

The MBCA is a volunteer-led committee of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County (CSSC), exclusively focusing on the Malta area. The CSSC is an affiliate of the Capital Region Chamber, which unites businesses and communities with “one voice, one mission for one region.” The Capital Region Chamber has offices in Albany, Clifton Park and Schenectady.
