May 12, 2020Northern Rivers Receives $46,000 in COVID-19 Emergency Grants
Northern Rivers Family of Services announced the acceptance of $46,000 in grant funding to support their COVID-19 response in the community. The awards are:
- $20,000 from the Capital Region Community COVID-19 Response Fund to purchase emergency food, diapers, and formula; support distance learning, and fortify service delivery technology infrastructure
- $10,000 from the Berkshire Bank Foundation to provide emergency food to families served by Northern Rivers educational programs
- $10,000 from the Redlich Horowitz Foundation to purchase telecommunications supplies to ensure more than 140 foster families maintain connections with birth families and Northern Rivers support staff through audio- and videoconferencing
- $4,000 from the Adirondack Health Institute to support a telehealth project to support individuals in the North Country
- $2,000 from Stewart’s/Dake Family to provide emergency food

Our clients have been some of the hardest hit because of their struggles with abuse, neglect, poverty, mental health challenges, and limited access to resources. We have quickly reshaped the way we provide services, and have worked tirelessly to help our neighbors who need it most.
