May 1, 2020Proctors Collaborative Participates in #GivingTuesdayNow
Proctors Collaborative is participating May 5 in #GivingTuesdayNow, an international event organized by Giving Tuesday to spark an increase in nonprofit support during the COVID-19 crisis around the world.
The event coincides with Proctors Collaborative’s first text to give initiative. Supporters will be able to donate by texting GTPROCTORS to 41444, designating whether their gift supports Proctors, Capital Repertory Theatre or Universal Preservation Hall. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible. They may also go to proctors.org, capitalrep.org or universalpreservationhall.org and select on the donate button at the top of each page.
Proctors Collaborative is communicating with patrons through email and over social media in the days leading up to the event.
“The current crisis requires us to pause our programming but we still have buildings to maintain and employees to support during this intermission,” says Jim Murphy, director of marketing and corporate relations. “We fully realize that many of our neighbors cannot support us at this time but we hope those who can help us, will.”
“Sustaining the arts has an economic impact; the sector is the sixth largest segment of the Capital Region’s workforce,” Murphy adds. “Equally important, we need to make certain that in a post-COVID world we have the arts available to heal and uplift us.”
