Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Implements COVID-19 Crowd Density Control Measures

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is currently open for guests, and will remain open, until further notice. The health and well-being of our guests and team members is our highest priority. Along with our community, and the entire country, we’re also actively monitoring the situation and adjusting our plans, policies, and operating procedures as new information becomes available.

While we are currently awaiting additional guidance from Governor Cuomo’s office regarding mass gathering regulations, the following crowd density control measures will go into effect at 5 p.m. this evening:

• All entertainment at the Event Center and Van Slyck’s lounge is being postponed for, at least, the next two weeks.

• Total allowable capacity at Rivers Casino will be limited to 450 guests.

• Every other slot machine will be out of service, and every other table game seat will be blocked off, for social distancing.

• Our full-service restaurants, Dukes Chophouse and Mian, will be reduced to 50-percent occupancy.

• The only entrance to the casino available for guests will be from the Parking Garage side (near the Event Center and The Landing Hotel).

• Some casino gaming promotions will also be cancelled.

Rivers Casino has also taken additional steps to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 which include increased cleaning and sanitizing of all guest areas, including gaming machines and tables, signage to educate guests and team members on precautions such as hand-washing, and the installation of additional hand sanitizing stations and wipe dispensers.

Additional details:

• Installation of 25 additional hand sanitizing stations.
• New sanitizing wipe dispensers on the casino floor.
• Additional signage to educate guests and team members on coronavirus precautions.
• Increased EVS (cleaning) staff for all guest and team member areas.
• Use of new EPA approved cleaning chemicals that kill the virus.
• Increasing cleaning efforts throughout the property including all entrances, surfaces, restrooms, and team member only areas, including cafeteria.
• Increased cleaning of The Landing Hotel rooms with utilization of new EPA approved chemicals that kill the virus.

We are also closely monitoring the health and safety of guests and team members.
