June 9, 2015The Sage Colleges Announces First Lecture in Annual Colonie Jewish Community Association Series
ALBANY & TROY, NY – The Sage Colleges is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the annual Colonie Jewish Community Association Lecture Series in conjunction with the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York and its PJ Library Parenting Series.
The first annual lecture will take place on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jewish Federation located at 184 Washington Avenue Extension in Albany.
Megan McCabe, CPNP, will lead a discussion based on The New York Times best-selling book “The Blessing of a Skinned Knee” by Wendy Mogel, Ph.D. McCabe is a pediatric nurse practitioner at St. Peter’s Health Partners Pediatrics in Slingerlands.
“This is a wonderful example of The Sage Colleges helping to enhance learning opportunities beyond our campuses and within our local communities,” explained Shelly Goldman Black, director of stewardship, at The Sage Colleges. “Through this partnership we are providing a unique opportunity for all parents in the Capital Region by presenting them with practical parenting skills and helpful resources to assist them in raising their children in today’s world.”
“The Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York has been wanting to offer a parenting series like this for quite some time,” said Amy Drucker, the Federation’s director of special programming. “We are thankful to The Sage Colleges for helping to make this lecture series a reality and we are excited about providing parents with sound tools and advice that will help them address the challenges of parenthood and have a lasting impact on how they raise their children.”
