Capital Region Living Magazine Launches Cover Champion Calendar

Capital Region Living Magazine is announcing their Calendar Reveal Party to kickoff the sale of their Cover Companions calendar. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the calendar will be donated to Animal Protective Foundation, 11th Hour Canine Rescue, and Everlasting Hope Animal Rescue. They are hoping to raise more than $20,000 to support the essential services these three nonprofits provide to the animals of the Greater Capital Region.

The Cover Companions Contest was conceived as a way to raise funds and awareness for the Animal Protective Foundation. Capital Region Living Magazine has been running our Cover Companion Contest for three years and has raised a little more than $1,000 for APF since its beginning.

This year, in order to grow the funds raised, Capital Region Living Magazine conceived of a calendar fundraiser featuring local animals and their stories. CRL secured corporate sponsors to cover the cost of the calendar printing and kicked off the contest via email and social media on July 15. On September 6, CRL convened their independent judging panel to make the unenviable selection of twelve finalists from the more than 120 submissions Capital Region Living Magazine received.

The twelve finalists received the “star” treatment with a photoshoot by Blue Iris Photography and the CRL Editorial and Art teams designed the calendars.

On October 3 at 5:30 pm, CRL will unveil the calendars to the public at the Calendar Reveal Party at Revolution Hall in Troy. The cost to attend is $25 and includes fun finger foods and a marketplace of local vendors including Benson’s Pet Supplies, Gnome Serum, Blue Iris Photography and Mugzy’s Barkery. Calendars will be for sale at the event for $10 each and all proceeds will be donated directly back to APF, 11th Hour Canine Rescue and Everlasting Hope Animal Rescue.
