Capital Region Chamber Announces Nonprofit Business Awards Honorees

The Capital Region Chamber’s Nonprofit Business Awards recognize exemplary nonprofit organizations and outstanding executive and volunteer leadership for their impact. The awards will be presented at a luncheon event on Friday, November 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Desmond Hotel. CDPHP and KeyBank are the presenting sponsors of the awards luncheon.

The following individuals and organizations are being recognized:

The 2019 Nonprofit Executive Leadership Award recognizes a nonprofit leader whose distinguished achievements have resulted in significant progress toward improving a community issue. –– William Trigg, III, Chief Executive Officer, Make-A-Wish

The 2019 Nonprofit Board Service Award recognizes an individual Nonprofit Board Member that demonstrates effective nonprofit governance practices and exemplifies ethical and impactful voluntary leadership. –– Kate Koval, Unity House of Troy

The 2019 Excellence in Local Impact Award is presented to a high-performing local chapter of a national nonprofit organization, the programs and services of which set a high standard of quality in creating meaningful social change. –– Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area

The 2019 Nonprofit Organization Award is given to an organization that has excelled in several of the following areas within the last 12 months: outstanding service outcomes, innovative programming that adapts to changing community needs and achieves desired goals, consistently employs ethical management practices, creates an empowering work environment, successfully navigated a major change in operations, or effectively collaborates or partners with other organizations in the region.–– Consumer Directed Choices, Inc.

The 2019 Corporate Partner Award recognizes an organization for its impact to one or multiple nonprofits through any or all of the following: volunteerism, financial support, in-kind donations, strategic partnerships and board participation. –– SEFCU
