Nearly 30 College and Room Essentials Packages Assembled and Delivered

ALBANY – JULY 24th – CAP COM Federal Credit Union and its charitable giving arm, the CAP COM Cares Foundation have once again partnered with Mission Accomplished Transition Services. Each year the Foundation helps to select awardees, assemble and deliver packages for the Mission Accomplished Transition Services CARE Package Scholarship Program. This year the program has selected 27 essay finalists whom will each receive a CARE package filled with all of their room essentials for their upcoming college experience.

CARE packages were filled with bedding, personal care products, school supplies such as notebooks and binders, and more. 13 CAP COM employees volunteered their time to assemble, pack and deliver the bins over several weeks’ time. Delivery of the CARE packages to Mission Accomplished will take place on 3 dates: July 26th, in which Carmen Duncan, Chief Coach and Founder of Mission Accomplished Transition Services will be present, August 16th, and August 23rd at the Bull Moose Club, 150 State St., Albany, NY 12207.

“We believe it doesn’t take much, but it does take us all. With the help of our volunteers we are able to help young adults enter college with confidence”, stated Paige Rueckert, Community & Youth Advocate at CAP COM. “These young adults are our future and we hope that through this program we empower them to continue to further their education as well as reduce their financial burden.”

“The CARE packages we provide to students transitioning into college is truly rewarding. The cost of college is expensive and creates economic stress for many families. I am grateful we have the opportunity to partner with CAP COM Cares Foundation and Federal Credit Union to provide care packages that help defray some of the costs associated with transitioning into college. We are grateful to the students and families who allow us to be apart of this incredible milestone,” said Carmen Duncan, Chief Coach and Founder of Mission Accomplished Transition Services.
