Member Spotlight: The Albany Academies

The Albany Academies—Albany Academy for Girls and The Albany Academy—are Preschool-12 independent schools that offer students individual attention with highly experienced faculty members and a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum.

The Academies have a unique model of single gender education with a “blend at the end.” Students begin in single gender classrooms in Lower and Middle School, benefiting them most at this critical developmental time, before gradually introduced to coordinate education in the Upper School. The Albany Academies provide leadership opportunities and experiences that prepare students for the entrepreneurial century that lies ahead. Our goal is to develop self-motivated and self-directed learners capable of doing their own work to a high academic standard.

Nestled between New Scotland Avenue and Hackett Boulevard in Albany, the Academies’ beautiful 50-acre campus is complete with state-of-the-art classrooms, newly renovated athletic complexes and fields, and inspiring artistic spaces for our students to learn and grow in. We pride ourselves on our tight-knit community where every student is known and appreciated by our faculty and staff.

The Albany Academies have been preparing students for college and leadership for over 200 years. Our network of alumni and alumnae is comprised of thousands of highly accomplished professionals and individuals from around the world who often come back to campus to speak with our students.

We invite those interested in The Albany Academies to attend one of our Admissions Events where you can meet our faculty and tour our campus. Visit our website at albanyacademies.org to learn more.
