January 31, 2019Mohawk Ambulance Service Accepting Applicants for Free EMT Training Program
Mohawk Ambulance Service, the largest privately-owned ambulance service in upstate New York, announces that applications are now being accepted for its free EMT Training Course. The five-month course is offered free of charge to qualified applicants, making it possible for a candidate to become certified without having to make a large personal investment. Two classes, usually meeting once a week, will be offered simultaneously.
Applicant interviews are now being scheduled through Feb. 4. Interested parties are asked to submit an application for consideration at www.mohawkambulanceservice.com/careers.
One class will meet mostly on Mondays (certain weeks there are two sessions) and one will be on Fridays, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Monday class will run Feb. 18 through June 20. The Friday class will run Feb. 22 through July 18. Sessions will be held at Mohawk’s training facility at their station at 570 Central Avenue in Albany.
Since the creation of the course in 2016, Mohawk has begun to integrate some of its orientation process into the EMT program, streamlining onboarding and training to place skilled medical providers in the field more efficiently. Past course offerings have produced dozens of New York State Certified EMTs, with the majority becoming gainfully employed at Mohawk Ambulance Service.
“Mohawk Ambulance Service established a thorough orientation program to ensure our high standards for excellent emergency medical care are consistently provided by all of our team members,” said James McPartlon, III, president, Mohawk Ambulance Service. “We’re pleased to continue offering a route into the EMS industry for talented individuals who may not otherwise have the means to pursue a career in the field.”
