Princeton Review: Clarkson University One of Nation’s Best Value Colleges and Ranks Tops Among Career Placement

Clarkson University is once again one of the nation’s best colleges for students seeking a superb education with great career preparation at an affordable price, according to The Princeton Review®.

The education services company profiles Clarkson in the just-published 2019 edition of its annual guide, The Best Value Colleges: 200 Schools with Exceptional ROI for Your Tuition Investment. Only about 7 percent of America’s four-year-colleges are profiled in the book.

Information on the book, its school profiles, and its seven categories of ranking lists is accessible for free on The Princeton Review’s website at https://www.princetonreview.com/college-rankings/best-value-colleges/

Clarkson has also been named one of the Best Northeastern Colleges by Princeton Review, as well as one of the most environmentally responsible “green” colleges in the United States through inclusion in The Princeton Review’s Guide to 399 Green Colleges: 2018 Edition. Clarkson ranks among the top 25 on the list of Best Career Placement and the top 15 for Best Career Services. Students say the administration “really stresses on how important your career is” and the curriculum and faculty drive home the fact that “you go to college to eventually one day get a career in what you love.”

The Princeton Review chose the schools based on data it collected in 2017–18 from its surveys of administrators at more than 650 colleges. The company also factored in data from its surveys of students attending the schools as well as surveys of school alumni that PayScale.com conducted through April 2018.

“We salute Clarkson University, and all of our The Best Value Colleges. They stand out for their outstanding academics and their affordability via generous financial aid to students with need and/or comparatively low sticker prices,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review’s Editor-in-Chief and lead author of the book. “Students at these colleges also have access to extraordinary career services from their freshman year on, plus a lifetime of valuable alumni support.”

In the book’s profile of Clarkson University, The Princeton Review editors praise the school and say “Clarkson is a science and engineering powerhouse that has consistently turned career-ready, “hardworking and determined” students out into the workforce” and quote from Clarkson students who say “Everyone wants you to succeed and provides the resources for you to do so.” The “Career Information” section in the profile lists an exceptional ROI rating score of 89/99 for Clarkson. It also cites PayScale.com figures reporting Clarkson University’s graduates with at least a bachelor’s degree have a median starting salary of $65,100 and a median mid-career salary of $128,000.

The Princeton Review is known for its school recommendations in many of its projects. Among them: its book, Colleges That Create Futures, and its profiles and college rankings in dozens of categories in its annual book, The Best 384 Colleges, published in August.
