May 29, 2015BSNB Hosting Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding Day
BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – May 29, 2015 – Ballston Spa National Bank, in partnership with Tech Valley Recycling (TVR) and 3N Document Destruction, will be hosting an electronics recycling and document shredding event on Saturday, June 20. The event, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon, will take place at the BSNB Corporate Plaza, 990 State Route 67 in Ballston Spa.
A group of BSNB Volunteers in Action will be working the event to help collect items for recycling and shredding. The event is free, but we will be accepting donations for the Regional Food Bank’s summer program for children and the Saratoga County Animal Shelter. Aside from monetary donations, the food bank is in need of simple activities – puzzles, bubbles, coloring/activity books – for children ages 8 to 12 and the animal shelter is looking for tennis balls, cat toys, treats or your old towels, blankets or comforters.
Certain restrictions apply to items being collected at the event for recycling:
Document shredding: Please limit your materials to five boxes.
Electronics recycling: TVR will be accepting answering machines, air conditioners, batteries (rechargeable), cables (power cords, power strips and wires), calculators, cameras, cell phones and chargers, circuit boards, computers (laptops, desktops, tablets and e-readers), computer mice, computer monitors (CRT, LCD and LED), copiers, dehumidifiers, digital converter boxes, digital video recorders, document scanners, DVD players, fax machines, GPS units, hard drives, ink/toner cartridges, kitchen appliances (coffee makers, microwaves, toasters, etc.), keyboards, network equipment, pagers, portable digital music players, printers, projectors, radios/boomboxes, recording devices, shredders, telephones, typewriters, vacuums, VCRs, video game consoles, video equipment and webcams.
Note that the following items will NOT be accepted at the June 20 event: Televisions, liquids, smoke detectors, bulbs and alkaline batteries. Please call Tech Valley Recycling at 518-877-9800 if you are unsure about your item.
