Cooley Group Appoints New President, Phil Yawman

The Cooley Group Board of Directors has announced that following a successful 36 year tenure with the company, including the past 20 years as the Company’s president, Stuart Boyar retired at year’s end. The company also announced that Phil Yawman was selected by the board of directors to assume the role of president effective December 31, 2018. Phil has more than 25 years of leadership experience.

“Phil’s appointment represents an exciting new chapter in the long and successful history of the company.” said the board. “His entrepreneurial and people-focused leadership style, proven track record of driving profitable growth in competitive markets, and his knowledge and operating experience throughout New York State positions the Cooley Group to continue to be a leader in the specialty print, branding and promotions marketplace.” Yawman will be responsible for the overall management of the company and will also serve as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

Yawman is a life long native of Rochester, New York.  Prior to joining Cooley Group he was Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing at Annese and Associates and was formerly a Co-Founder of Choice One Communications, a telecommunications company that grew rapidly in the early 2000’s.  He is very active in the community and serves on several other boards, including St. John Fisher College, Monroe Community College Foundation and the Constellation Brands Performing Arts Center (CMAC).

Yawman joined the Cooley Group on December 17th and successfully transitioned to the role of President during the past few weeks.
