Kids Have Summer of Learning, Performing and Fun at Saint Rose Summer Academy

SAINT ROSE OFFERS SUMMER OF LEARNING, PERFORMING AND

FUN WITH THE ARTS, SCIENCES, BUSINESS AND SPORTS

st roseOpportunities abound at The College of Saint Rose Summer Academy for middle school and high school students looking for great summer fun, learning and performing.

Now in its 23rd year, the Summer Academy, created for children entering grades 6 through 10, provides unique and fun one- and two-week learning experiences in art and design, science and technology, writing, business, performing arts, video, circus, musical theater and sports.  Students and parents may pick from 60 different half- and full-day programs – including 16 new this year – that are flexible, convenient and fit almost any schedule.

Among the new offerings this year, kids may:

• go geocaching for hidden treasure;

• create their own board games;

• learn how to record and mix music using professional programs, microphones and gear;

• write using recorded speech, photos, wikis, blogs and prezis;

• investigate and dissect conspiracy theories;

• design, test and cook with solar power;

• learn the ins and outs of coaching athletes and teams.

The Summer Academy runs from July 6 through August 14.  Half-day programs are 9 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.; full-day programs are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.  All half-day programs cost $150.  Full-day programs range from $300 to $450 and include lunch.
