Epilepsy Foundation hosts 550 Walkers and Raises $62,000 at 10th Anniversary Walk for Epilepsy

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York held their 10th Anniversary Walk for Epilepsy on Sunday, September 9 at Saratoga Spa State Park, raising $62,000. This year brought over 550 walkers and over 40 teams.

The morning began as many gathered at the Columbia Pavilion while B95.5’s street team got the party started. Snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy were offered followed by nonstop entertainment brought by a bounce house and face painting. The day was Emceed by Channel 13’s own Bob Kovachick. Remarks were made by Executive Director Jeannine Garab followed by Mayor of Saratoga Springs, Meg Kelly. Comments were also made by Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh.

The walk began with the Epilepsy Foundations 2018 Winning Kid Whitney, her brother Miles, and Bob Kovachick leading the way. Northeastern New York was ready to walk it out! Walkers were welcomed back to the pavilion with smells crafted by Fitzy’s Fork in the Road Food truck; Lunch is served! We finished out the day with awarding many well deserving teams and raffle winners. Among the many raffles, the most prestigious was two tickets to a Yankees games!

All of the proceeds from the event are used to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York’s programs and services including educational programs, case management, advocacy, support networks and counseling.
