A beautiful, sunny day in May was the scene of the grand opening of Malcolm’s restaurant in Schenectady. The restaurant sits on lower Union street in what some call “restaurant row.” The Chamber along with many local business owners, elected officials, friends, family and patrons were all on hand for the ceremony and the gracious party after the event. Nate Germain, the founder and owner, served some of his eclectic foods and had samples of wines and beers for all to try. Nate, who worked in New York City for many high end establishments for over a decade, brought back cuisine and style from his experiences. The restaurant is farm to table and therefore has a ever-changing menu. It is important to Nate and his crew to not only provide high quality food but to provide a unique experience. So far, the buzz and anticipation of the opening of the restaurant has brought in guests from near and far. and thus far has been well patronized.
