Nonprofit Startup Software Beta Test

Starting a new not-for-profit corporation in New York State can be complex! Professors and students at Albany Law School have been working to create two web-based programs that will walk individuals through the process of preparing the necessary documents to start a nonprofit. Utilizing these programs, an individual can prepare the forms necessary for creating a non-profit under state law and get them ready for filing with the state.

The Institute of Nonprofit Leadership and Community Development (a collaborative effort of Albany Law School and UAlbany’s Schools of Business, Public Health, Social Welfare, and the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy) needs help from members of the community — both potential and experienced nonprofit founders — to test the software! They will provide:

  • Access to software provided a week ahead of the event so you can test on your own time
  • All levels of tech-savviness are needed, from beginner to advanced
  • Dinner provided at the report-out event

The week of testing will culminate in a free event on March 20th from 6p – 8p held at The Non-profit Center in URBAN CO-WORKS at 433 State Street, 4th Floor, Schenectady, with special thanks to NeonCRM.

Participation as a tester and at the event is free, but registration is required since software is reviewed during the week prior to the event.
