Albany Pro Musica continues its 37th Season with the return of their very popular performance featuring songs from Broadway musicals.  Broadway Returns will be performed Sunday, March 4, 3 PM, at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.

Back by popular demand!  Join Albany Pro Musica and Pro Musica Pops on another tour de force of some all-time favorite Broadway tunes.  Selections by Rodgers and Hammerstein, as well as songs from the hit Broadway shows Hairspray, Camelot, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, and much more!

Jose Daniel Flores-Caraballo conducts, and Philip Morris, CEO of Proctor’s Theatre, and Mary Darcy, local actress and Editor of the popular online blog, All Over Albany, will emcee this exciting performance.  Special guests from the Capital District Youth Choral have been invited to sing.

New this year will be the element of dance.  Routines have been choreographed to accompany the Broadway tunes.  The featured dancers are Cassidy Layton, Robert Murray, and Jamari Johnson Williams.

Lux Aeterna

The Albany Pro Musica Masterworks Series presents Morten Lauridsen’s exquisite Lux Aeterna and Michael Haydn’s moving Requiem. Lauridsen was named “American Choral Master” by the National Endowment for the Arts and received the National Medal of Arts “for his composition of choral works combining musical beauty, power and spiritual depth that have thrilled audiences worldwide.” Under the shadow of his famous brother Joseph, Michael Haydn wrote some of the most beautiful music, of which his Requiem is his masterpiece. Two masterworks from two contrasting eras in one memorable performance with the Orchestra Pro Musica.
