May 12, 2015WAMC/Northeast Public Radio Welcomes New Board Chair and Five New Trustees
ALBANY, NY (05/12/2015)(readMedia)– WAMC/Northeast Public Radio is pleased to announce that Joseph Browdy of Hillsdale, New York has been elected Chair of the WAMC Board of Trustees. Browdy is a retired partner of the New York City law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind and Garrison and a long-time WAMC board member.
Joining Browdy as Officers of WAMC are Janet Axelrod, Vice Chair; Stephen Pagano, Treasurer; Dorothy Reynolds, Secretary, and Alan Chartock, President. Rounding out the Executive Committee are newly elected Trustees Dr. David Ford and James Spencer, Jr., and returning Trustees Anne Erickson, Judith Grunberg, Ira Fusfeld, and Carmi Rapport.
“WAMC is always grateful to all of those who volunteer and give Board service,” said WAMC President and CEO, Alan Chartock. “We couldn’t do it without them. We’re incredibly proud of the diverse backgrounds, interests, and expertise of our Trustees.”
Kevin O’Connor, Sandy Waxgiser, and Anthony Capece were also newly elected as Trustees, joining the Board for the first time. Robert Norris, John Dunne, Gerald Benjamin, Mary Ballou, Roger Phillips, Dan Bazile, and Will Little are returning WAMC Trustees.
WAMC/Northeast Public Radio is a member of National Public Radio and an affiliate of Public Radio International. The station is a regional public radio network serving parts of seven northeastern states. Stations and translators are in twenty-eight locations throughout the region.
