AN EXTRAORDINARY EVENING TO BENEFIT THE WOMEN OF WERC
Albany, NY – An exceptional evening of shopping, food, drinks, and networking to benefit the women of the Capital District Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC) will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Crossings of Colonie.
This is the “Lucky” 7th annual First Impressions, Second Chances event to raise money for the programs and services of WERC to advance women’s success in the workplace. The $40 ticket price includes a fabulous networking opportunity, fantastic buffet and 10 vendors selling gourmet food, jewelry, and accessories. Participating vendors and other local businesses will be raffling off valuable prizes that include popular tech gadgets and mystery bags worth over $300 each.
“This premier networking event, with over 150 business professionals expected to attend, has grown each year. Last year, the event, not only raised funds, but also increased the awareness of the important and valuable services we provide to help women return to work,” said Elizabeth Miller, Executive Director of WERC. “This year promises to be bigger and better than ever for all involved.”
Donations are encouraged and appreciated. These could include clothing, accessories, portfolios, and gift cards which will be utilized by the women in WERC’s Training Program. About WERC:
The Capital District Women’s Employment and Resource Center (WERC) is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to advancing women’s success in the workplace by building their economic and personal independence. For over 25 years, WERC has helped over 6,400 women successfully find or improve their employment. These are women from both Albany and Rensselaer Counties who have lost their source of income upon the death, divorce, separation, disability, or dislocation of a spouse or who are single mothers. Program participants receive career planning, computer skills, workforce preparation training, job placement, and retention services. They leave the program with enhanced qualifications, skills, self-confidence, and a deep commitment to achieving excellence in their chosen workplace.
