July 27, 2017Former NYS DEC Commissioner, Erin M. Crotty, to Lead Environmental Market at CHA
Former New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner, Erin M. Crotty, has joined CHA Consulting, Inc. (CHA) as Vice President – Environmental Market Leader. She will lead efforts to expand CHA’s environmental project portfolio for our private and public-sector clients. Ms. Crotty will lead and work with a team of environmental engineers and scientists providing solutions to complex environmental issues, including remediation and regulatory compliance. Additionally, she brings a unique ability to assist our clients by understanding their needs and charting a path to assist them in achieving their strategic goals. Ms. Crotty will be based out of the firm’s Colonie, NY office.

Ms. Crotty joins CHA with decades of environmental and energy experience in the public, non-profit and private sectors. Her work has included leading efforts to improve air quality, open space conservation, cleanup Superfund and brownfield sites, watershed protection, habitat protection, sustainable economic growth, solid waste management, water quality protection and improvement, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Most recently, Ms. Crotty served as the Executive Director of Audubon New York and Vice President of the National Audubon Society. Prior to that she held leadership roles at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Plug Power. Ms. Crotty was the first woman to be named Commissioner for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Ms. Crotty has also served as DEC’s Deputy Commissioner for the Division of Water Quality and Remediation, as a member of the New York State Thruway Authority Board of Directors under three governors, and Director of Special Environmental Projects for Governor George E. Pataki.
