The Mahoney Performance Institute (MPI) has announced the addition of Bruce Parsons as a principal consultant to the firm to advise business leaders throughout the Capital Region and beyond.
The Mahoney Performance Institute was established in 2013 by founder and CEO Shaun Mahoney with the aim to develop high performance people, organizations and economies. MPI provides tools and creates development programs, leadership forums and resources to help companies and organizations build strategies, leadership and organizational cultures which drive performance.
The Mahoney Performance Institute provides leadership education and executive coaching to a significant number of top companies and organizations in the Capital Region including: Albany Molecular Research (AMRI), BBL Hospitality, CDPHP, IntegraOptics, The Capital Region Chamber, CDPHP, General Electric (GE) and SI Group.
In addition to MPI CEO Shaun Mahoney, other peer to peer advisors and consultants at MPI include Jim Scott of Scott Consulting, Jeff Stone of Kinderhook Bank, Joseph Yetto of TAG Solutions and Ryan O’Donnell of Whitehat Development and MPI Marketing Director Steve Banis.
For more than 35 years, Parsons has followed his passion for helping people and organizations achieve extraordinary performance and deliver breakthrough results. As a principal consultant, he will be responsible to plan and deliver strategic planning and execution engagements, lead MPI training events, deliver business consulting services, coach and mentor business leaders, develop new business and manage client accounts.

Prior to joining MPI, Parsons served as vice president with Blue Slate Solutions and EXL Service where his efforts were focused on planning and delivering innovative transformational change with Medicare Administration Contractors leading to substantial increases in operational effectiveness and efficiencies. He also led his own business, Parsons Associates, delivering strategic planning, organizational and leadership development, business consulting, performance management and coaching services to small and mid-sized businesses in the greater Glens Falls and Saratoga regions.

Parsons’ remarkable career also includes six years in operations excellence, program management and supply chain management with Boston Scientific/Navilyst Medical in Glens Falls, NY; three years in project management with GE Power Systems in Schenectady, NY where he earned his Green Belt Six Sigma Certification; and 15 years serving in construction and project management, sales, marketing and business leadership roles with Andritz Ahlstrom in Glens Falls, NY.
Parsons is a distinguished military graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in civil engineering. He served over four years as a combat engineer officer in the US Army serving in platoon leader, battalion maintenance officer and company executive officer positions and earned Army commendation and meritorious service medals.
In addition, Parsons served for five years on the Tri-County United Way Board of Directors, including one year as president of the board. He currently leads the Spirit of ’76 Scholarship Committee in Glens Falls and has served as volunteer coach in youth athletics including baseball, softball, basketball, soccer and lacrosse. Bruce and his wife Kate reside in Glens Falls, NY, they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
