May 1, 2015Sage Biology Student Receives Accolades at TriBeta Conference
TROY, NY – The Sage Colleges is pleased to announce that Sage Biology student Alexandra Sutherland was awarded third place honors at the TriBeta Regional Conference for her presentation “Blame it on Mom? Relationship between Maternal Nutrition and Offspring Anxiety Behaviors.” Students from over thirteen schools presented the results of their research projects at the April 25 conference at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT. Sage was also recognized with the Travel Gavel Award for the school who traveled the longest distance to attend the conference.
Sage Biology professors Dorothy Matthews, Ph.D., and Kenneth Howard, Ph.D. were also in attendance and Sage student Christine Zimmer presented a poster entitled: Are Larvae Bitten more during Season of Queen Development in Temnothorax curvispinosus?
Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 200,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 670 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
