New Report Highlights Economic Impact of the Capital Region Nonprofit Sector

A recently completed study of the Capital Region nonprofit organizations has made it clear just how significant an impact the sector makes on the region’s economy. The study was conducted by Lester M. Salamon and Chelsea L. Newhouse of Johns Hopkins University and includes key findings about the size of the nonprofit sector and the number of jobs provided.  According to the study, over a 10-year period (2003-2013) nonprofits accounted for more than 90 percent of total new job creation in the Capital Region.  Click here to read the complete study.
