August 29, 2016Turf Hotels Joins the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York in the Fight to Overcome Epilepsy
Turf Hotels, owner and operator of Albany hotels Staybridge Suites, Hampton Inn University Area and Homewood Suites by Hilton, is proud to sponsor the 6th Annual Jake Straughter Memorial Golf Tournament for Epilepsy. Turf Hotels has partnered with the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, which organizes and hosts the event each year.
“Statistically, one out of ten people will have at least one seizure during their lifetime,” said Mike Hoffman, Owner of Turf Hotels and Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York Boardmember. “Sometimes, a single seizure can drastically change one’s health irrevocably. This happened to my grandson Jake when he was only eight months old. Jake passed away at age four. The purpose of the tournament is to honor the time we had with him and raise much-needed funding for epilepsy research, programs, advocacy and awareness. Jake inspires us each day to work toward a cure.”
By participating in this year’s golf tournament, you will directly help the more than 45,000 people throughout Northeastern New York that are living with epilepsy. The event will be held Monday, September 26th at both Wolferts Roost Country Club and Shaker Ridge Country Club. There are currently openings for foursomes and individuals, and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
