Say ‘Thanks’ to First Responders at Remember Those Who Keep Us Safe

Now more than ever it is vital to our community to show appreciation for our local law enforcement and first responders for the work that they do day in and day out. Colonie Senior Service Centers (CSSC) will host the 15th Annual Remember Those Who Keep Us Safe recognition program to thank Colonie’s first responders for their dedication to keeping those who live in Colonie safe and protected each and every day. Remember Those Who Keep Us Safe will begin at 11am at the Beltrone Living Center on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.

This program provides an opportunity for local officials and the senior citizens of Colonie to join together and remember, recognize, and honor the dedicated and hard working men and women who regularly endanger themselves to ensure our safety. Representatives from local EMS, Fire, and police departments will participate in the program.  Supervisor Paula Mahan is expected to speak.

Remember Those Who Keep Us Safe is held the Wednesday before Patriot Day, September 11. On this day in 2001 in New York City, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania four coordinated terrorist attacks took the lives of nearly 3,000 victims including the brave first responders who gave their lives to save others in the destruction. In this program, CSSC will hold a ceremony to remember those who were lost and thank those who still serve our community and keep Colonie one of the safest communities to live in. CSSC invites the public to attend and show their support.

Colonie Senior Service Centers is an independent, community based not-for-profit that serves the largest population of senior citizens in the Capital District.
