Music Haven’s Annual Summer Social on Sunday, August 14, in Schenectady’s Central Park. Dinner from 5-7 pm under the Thomas Isabella Pavilion, will feature “Global Stations” reflecting the diverse locales from which the series’ artists have come. Irish Cheeses, mini Jamaican Beef Patties, an Eastern European table with pierogies, kielbasa, and braised cabbage, a Caribbean table with Catfish, mango salsa, and yellow rice, a carving station with summer salads, NYS wines and Wolf Hollow and other craft brews. Following dinner, the nearby Music Haven Concert Series will present its grand finale, with Matt & Shannon Heaton opening for world class traditional Irish band, Dervish. For patrons, the evening concludes with a “Backstage Dessert Afterglow”. The 2016 Summer Social “Music Haven Maven” Honoree is Betsy Sandberg, a tireless volunteer, who has generously given time, talent and treasure to the Music Haven Concert Series for over 20 years. The rain site for the Summer Social and Concert is Proctors. All Music Haven Concerts are free to the public. Tickets for the Summer Social, $75 each, are available through www.musichavenstage.org. Attire is summer casual. All proceeds will benefit the Music Haven Concert Series.
