Sternheimer Appointed President of The Legal Project Board of Directors

Joann 1 Hi ResJoann Sternheimer, Esq., managing partner at Albany-based law firm of Deily & Glastetter, LLP, has been appointed president of The Legal Project’s board of directors. The announcement was made at a Board meeting on Monday, June 20, 2016. She succeeds Elizabeth Lott, Esq. and will serve on a two-year term basis.

Sternheimer has been an active member and strong proponent of The Legal Project for many years. Since 2002, she has been a regular participant in the various community clinics the organization offers. She has also served in several leadership capacities and has been a member of the board since 2012.

“I am truly honored to serve as president of the board of directors, and grateful for this opportunity to continue the vital work of the committed leaders, volunteers and friends of the organization,” Sternheimer said. “The need for The Legal Project’s advocacy and community efforts has never been more urgent, and I look forward to working with the organization’s members to be a strong force for change.”

Sternheimer joined Deily & Glastetter, LLP in 2000 and became Managing Partner in 2013. Her practice areas include representing creditors, defendants and bankruptcy trustees in all types of bankruptcy litigation. She also counsels lenders and borrowers in commercial loan transactions, negotiating and documenting working capital and term loans, and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation. Using her experience in bankruptcy and litigation, coupled with her understanding of commercial loans, she counsels lenders and borrowers in all phases of workout and debt restructuring matters.
