Literacy Volunteers Needed

Work with Literacy NY Greater Capital Region to tutor Albany adults.

Take this Free intensive training to get started:

Saturday, June 18
10am-4pm

Snacks, lunch, materials & follow up support are all provided.  After training you’ll be matched with a student & the tutoring begins! 

Training is cosponsored by Albany Public Library.

Here are just a few examples of students’ literacy goals:

  • Learn to read
  • Read to their children and help with children’s homework
  • Learn English
  • Study for the high school equivalency test
  • Increase computer literacy skills
  • Build employment hunting skills like resume writing, online job hunting & applications.
