UAlbany School of Business Event Honors Area Philanthropists, the Massry Family

The University at Albany will host a special event to honor the Massry family and their commitment to support and advance the University’s School of Business on Thursday, September 17 at 10:30 a.m. a University at Albany School of Business, 1400 Washington Avenue in Albany.

In December 2014, UAlbany announced a $5.25 million gift from the Massry family to support the School of Business and key University-wide initiatives. This is the largest gift ever made to UAlbany.

In addition to ensuring the new School of Business building remains a state-of-the-art resource, the gift will be used to fund speakers, conferences, and visiting faculty to enrich the academic experience for School of Business students and also to establish the Massry Community Fellows Program, a student internship program with local non-profits. The goal of the Program is to strengthen community service, a hallmark of the Massry family, and public engagement, a core priority of the University. The first two Massry fellows, named in 2015, include Ethan Schek of Clinton Corners, New York, a senior major in management and marketing, and Autumn Henry, a senior public health major from Dansville, New York.
