Triple Crown Winner American Pharoah to Arrive at Albany International Airport

On Wednesday, August 26 at approximately 2 p.m., 2015 Triple Crown champion American Pharoah will arrive at Albany International Airport before being transported to Saratoga Race Course in preparation for his running in the 146th edition in the Grade 1, $1.6 million Travers. The arrival of American Pharoah at Albany International Airport and at Saratoga Race Course is not open to the public.

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah will land at Albany International Airport Hangar #1.

Media are advised to report to the north door of the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Headquarters located on Jetway Drive by 1 p.m. to obtain clearance to the airfield.

Live trucks may park in reserved spaces on the north side of ARFF. Cabling will be permitted through the fence line on the north side of ARFF for live shots in advance and following the arrival.

American Pharoah is anticipated to arrive at Saratoga Race Course approximately 40 minutes following departure from the grounds of Albany International Airport.

Professional media credentialed by the New York Racing Association are invited to cover the arrival at Saratoga Race Course. NYRA credentials must be displayed for entry and at all times while on Saratoga Race Course property.

Media can begin assembling at 2:30 p.m. at the north end of Barn 25, which can be accessed through the Nelson Avenue backstretch entrance. Live shots from the barn will be permitted exclusively through remote/backpack set-up.

The 146th running of the Grade 1, $1.6 million Travers will take place at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday, August 29. (Note: The purse for the Travers will rise to $1.6 million from $1.25 million if Triple Crown winner and expected starter American Pharoah runs.)
