Schenectady Day Nursery (SDN) Announces 2017 Officers/Board

Amy Herter Robinson, a long-time Schenectady Day Nursery (SDN) board member and volunteer, and a partner at the law office, Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz, P.C, has been elected President of the SDN Board of Directors.

Vice President is Jim Ruggierio, President/Owner, Justin Electrical Inc.; Treasurer is Lisa Malone, Logistics Readiness Officer, New York Air National Guard; Secretary is Kim Speck, Director-Talent Acquisition and HR Systems, MVP Health Care.

​Board Members include Kristen Adach, Miriam Cajuste, Larry Cioffi, Connie D’Amato, Katelyn Galbraith, ​Jane N. Golub, Marion “Jet” Jackson, Eli Mc Nett, Peggy O’Connor, Alisha I. Roberts, Patricia A. Skinner, Anne D. Skrebutenas and John White.

Diane Fisher, a career educator who has served SDN for 25 years, is Executive Director.

SDN, a not for profit child care center, was founded in Schenectady in 1902. It is the Capital Region’s oldest continuing operating day care center.  Tuition is based on ability to pay with a sliding scale. SDN is located at 25 Lafayette Street in downtown Schenectady.  Its location is convenient to most major downtown places of employment.  SDN’s enrollment includes infants and toddlers from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Afterschool and summer programs are offered for children ages 6-12.    The all-volunteer board is an active, working board which draws from the skills and resources of its members.  Most administrative functions are provided by board members who receive no material compensation.  The web site is www.schenectadydaynursery.org.
